Scavland Anomaly Scanner & Artifacts
How to use the anomaly scanner, listen for beeps and reveal artifacts.
Public developer guidance says to press 3 to equip the anomaly scanner, aim toward the anomaly, move around and follow the strongest beeping until the artifact reveals itself.
Scanner steps
| Step | Action | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Press 3 | Equips the Anomaly Scanner in the demo-era control scheme |
| 2 | Aim toward the anomaly | Start with the visible or suspected anomaly field |
| 3 | Move around slowly | The scanner feedback changes as your direction improves |
| 4 | Listen for the strongest beeps | Stronger beeping points you toward the artifact |
| 5 | Keep adjusting direction | The artifact reveals when you are pointing correctly |
What is confirmed
Developer replies in the Steam discussion explain the basic scanner behavior. Older public notes also refer to artifact hunting, detectors, artifacts and Mire Anomaly content, so this is a real mechanic rather than a speculative wiki category.
What is not confirmed
Artifact names, prices, spawn tables, exact anomaly locations and detector upgrades should not be published as complete until Early Access capture. This page should answer how to use the scanner now, then expand into artifact rows after verified gameplay.
Related survival notes
Anomalies sit inside the same risk layer as radiation, the Mist, mutants and route planning. Bring healing supplies, avoid overloading your inventory and plan a return path before chasing an artifact deep into an unsafe area.
